Finding a lesson and booking your trial

Step by step

  1. 1

Choose a lesson and book a trial

Use the filters and pick the lesson you are interested in, online or in person. You book the trial at the price shown. For private lessons that price is a 30-minute get-to-know-you trial; for drop-in and monthly classes it is one full lesson.

  2. 2

    Wait for the answer

Your teacher can accept, propose another time, or decline. If they decline — or if they never answer — you choose how to get your money back: the full amount as site credits, to spend on another trial, or back to your card, less the small fee the payment method keeps (about €0.30–0.50). The choice appears under "Needs your attention" in your Bookings.

  3. 3

    Cancelling, if you have to

You can cancel from "Bookings". Cancel up to 2 hours before the lesson starts and you get your money back, either the full amount in your site wallet or back to your card, less the small fee the payment method keeps (about €0.30–0.50). Cancellations inside the last 2 hours are not accepted and not refunded, to protect the teacher's schedule. Every cancellation counts toward your cancellation rate, and one made within 24 hours of the lesson is additionally recorded as late.

  4. 4

Once the teacher accepts, your trial is set

If the trial is online, you can hold it in DanceLink's built-in online lesson room or on any other platform you prefer. You get a notification before the lesson, so make sure push notifications are turned on. Afterwards you are asked whether you attended, so the lesson counts toward your stats.

  5. 5

    What happens after the trial?

You are on the teacher's roster, contact details are shared both ways and the "Message" button unlocks. You agree times and payment directly with them — there is no further booking flow for you on the site. Ask your teacher to log your lessons in their calendar: each lesson then appears in your Bookings, you get a reminder before it, your attendance counts toward your stats and you unlock achievements. Without it DanceLink cannot see the lessons you are taking.

Good to know
  • Ask your teacher to put your lessons in their calendar. Reminders, stats and achievements all depend on it.
  • For each new teacher or school you pay DanceLink only once. Everything after that is between you and the teacher — DanceLink takes no commission.
  • If the student is under 18, a parent or guardian must come along to the first lesson. You are asked to declare this before paying.
