Terms of Service

Data controller: Emmanouil Panagiotidis, Aristotelous 39, 15344 Gerakas, Greece — [email protected]

1. Who We Are and Accepting These Terms

These terms apply when you use DanceLink in the United Kingdom. DanceLink is operated by Emmanouil Panagiotidis, a sole trader based in Greece (contact details at the top of this page). By creating an account or using the site you agree to these terms. If you use DanceLink as a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

2. Your Account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you need the permission of a parent or guardian, and any payment must be made by an adult. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential, for the activity on your account, and for keeping the information on your profile accurate.

3. Acceptable Use

You must use DanceLink lawfully and respectfully. You must not post or send anything that is illegal in the UK, or that is abusive, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit or misleading. In particular:

  • Do not post illegal, offensive or sexually explicit content, or anything that sexualises children in any way
  • Do not harass, bully, threaten or abuse other users — on the platform or using contact details you obtained through it
  • Do not impersonate anyone, create fake profiles, or post fake, paid-for or incentivised reviews
  • Do not send spam or unsolicited commercial messages

4. Your Content

You keep ownership of the content you post, including photos and videos, and you give us a non-exclusive licence to host, display and distribute it on DanceLink for as long as it is on the platform, so that we can run the service. You must have the right to share anything you upload, including the consent of anyone who can be identified in it. We may remove content that breaks these terms or that we reasonably believe is illegal.

5. Lessons, Events, Safety and Reporting

DanceLink helps dancers find teachers, schools and events. Lessons and events are provided by the teachers, schools and organisers themselves, who are responsible for them. You can report any user, profile, message, review or other content using the “Report” link in the footer of every page, or by emailing [email protected]. We review every report, remove content that is illegal or breaks these terms, and may restrict, suspend or close the accounts involved. If you disagree with a decision we have made about your content or your account, you can complain to the same address and we will look at it again.

6. Payments, Bookings and Cancellations

DanceLink’s role in payments is limited and specific:

  • The first trial lesson between a student and a teacher or school is paid for on DanceLink, through our payment provider Stripe. This fee is DanceLink’s own charge for arranging the introduction and is kept by DanceLink in full — none of it is paid to the teacher or school. Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include any VAT that applies.
  • Every lesson after the trial is arranged and paid for directly between the student and the teacher or school. DanceLink only provides the calendar used to arrange dates; we are not a party to those arrangements and do not handle any payment for them.
  • You can cancel a trial from “Bookings” up to 2 hours before it starts, and choose either the full amount as DanceLink credit or a refund to your card less the small fee our payment provider keeps. If the teacher declines, or does not answer within 7 days, the booking is cancelled and you choose credit or a card refund in the same way. Cancellations made less than 2 hours before the start are not refunded.
  • A trial lesson is a leisure service booked for a specific date, so the 14-day cancellation period under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 does not apply to it; the cancellation policy above applies instead. This does not affect your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Creating an account is free, and any future paid feature will be clearly priced before you buy it.

7. Closing Your Account

You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time from Settings → Account & Security, or by emailing [email protected]; we complete the deletion within one month. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, put other people at risk, or are used for fraud, and where it is reasonable we will tell you why.

8. Our Responsibility to You

We provide DanceLink with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for lessons, events or other services provided by teachers, schools or other users, for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law, and your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms, for example to reflect changes in the law or in how DanceLink works. We will tell you about important changes by email or on the site before they take effect. If you do not agree with a change you can close your account; if you keep using DanceLink after it takes effect, the new terms apply to you.

10. Governing Law, Complaints and Contact

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts, and the mandatory consumer laws of the part of the UK where you live continue to apply to you. If you have a complaint, please contact us first at [email protected] so we can try to put it right. For any question about these terms, write to [email protected].
